Microsoft will do whatever it can to retain exclusivity. It's the second largest exclusive franchise they have (Halo, of course, being the first). If Epic really wants to go multiplat, I see Microsoft offering to buy the IP.
It may be that Epic rejects that offer and it goes multiplat anyway, but I lean towards thinking that it will remain exclusive.
