Hey, I resent that! Minish Cap is my favorite post-Wind Waker Zelda game.

And I agree with another poster on here... Zelda CD-I games are the darkest of all Zelda games lol.

I like Minish Cap too. I belive it revels in its light-heartedness more than any other Zelda game... and it's way better than the DS Zelda games.

But perhaps that is one reason why it gets a fair amount of hate. :/

I'm not sure why the game gets ANY hate to be honest.  PH gets alot of hate because of the Ocean King temple, and Spirit Tracks for its cumbersome Link-Zelda co-op gameplay, but I've never heard anyone complain about any gameplay aspect of Minish Cap.
