Uhhh if suscriptions stay like they are I'm likely going with the ps4 next gen, but if microsoft manages to add more value to their xbox live gold or make a platinum service for slightly more, I would be willing to go with them. I don't really mind paying to play online as long as I'm getting more features alongside it. If both consoles offer a good value in their suscription services I would probably go with whoever makes more new ips early on as I'm getting bored of most of the exclusive ips from this gen. Definitely plan on selling either console later on, when a cheap upgrade for my PC will let it vastly outperform them
The current xbox live gold model just isnt worth it. If they provided a service similar to playstation plus, but you need it to play online, I wouldn't mind. As for the Wii U. I've decided I'll wait till the price drops signifcantly. Even if that means waiting a while. The handful of exclusives I'm really hyped for will have to wait. It just isn't a compelling enough device for someone who already owns an hd console or pc unless your only interest in gaming is nintendo games.
