In essence it is "super charged", a console will be able to take far more advantage of the hardware than a PC would, even if it is not customized to hell and back.


Sega just wanted people to understand that the Genesis' CPU was faster than the SNES, but back then people thought a CPU was the big gray box for running Excel at work. Sega called it Blast Processing to give kids ammo on the playground. Sony is calling a a mid ranged PC "Supercharged" to simplify the advantages of a closed architecture and give kids ammo for the forums.
