Please explain. I don't think there is any way to be less useful and more gimmicky than the front touchpad. Currently serves absolutely no purpose.

Important part bolded. Sony didn't even waste a single word on the touchpad when they introduced the DS4. Showed not a single use for it -> Currently useless
