There's a lot of overreaction in this thread. The guy isn't right about everything, but he isn't wrong about it all either. Hang up your fanboy hats and think about it with a clear mind.

PROBLEM 1

Wrong.

I don't need to see a hunk of plastic to know it exists.

PROBLEM 2

Right.

I own the stuff I purchase and I'll be damned if I'll let Sony or any other company take my ownership rights away. I rarely sell my games, but if I did it's my right to do what I want with my property. Video games are no different from anything else I own.

PC retail is dead. That's why almost all PC games are also on consoles and are nearly always on a digital store like Steam. It always bothered me that most PC games have an activation key and I hate that digital downloads have no real world value.

PROBLEM 3

Meh. Right and wrong.

So long as you can play games online it doesn't matter. If Sony upgrade's their network then you can bet they'll charge for it. You can also bet you won't be streaming those Gaikai games for free. I think the reason Sony didn't talk much about their online strategy is because they are going to have a subscription for online gaming and they don't want that to be all people talk and bitch about. They wanted fans to leave happy and taking away free online gaming would have them running away screaming bloody murder.

PROBLEM 4

Right.

It was boring and it was too long. The only exclusive that peaked my interest was Killzone. I didn't need to sit through such a long boring conference to be told what we already knew. 3rd party multiplatform games will be on PS4. Really, no shit?

PROBLEM 5

Right.

If the PS4 can't play PS3 retail disc it's going to be very bad for Sony and for gamers.

I am a firm believer that each new generation should play all previous generations of games. I don't care how many formats  the games come in or how much it adds to the cost. I want to be able to play my original Gameboy carts on my 3DS XL and I want to play my PS1 games on my PS4.

Asking me to repurchase the games I still own is insulting and I won't do it. I keep my old systems around so I can play my old games and I keep an updated folder of extensive emulation programs as a back up incase soemthing bad happens and I can't repair or get a replacement system.

Streaming games is NOT an option and repurchasing games I already own isn't going to happen. Just do the right thing and support backwards compatibility.

PROBLEM 6

Wrong.

Holiday 2013 is good enough for now. Plenty of time to save up. I'm not preordering anything right now anyway.

I would have liked a firm price though.
