The real question is, why don't 3rd parties get a clue and just start making more good Wii games? Don't they have market analysts who are supposed to see the potential for profit there?

The Wii is selling just fine as it is, and it's making very good profit for Nintendo, so I don't see why Nintendo should spend money to educate 3rd parties. I say let them sort it out by themselves.

C'mon, you've been around long enough to sing the tune:

No one expected the Wii to sell this well. Most 3Ps abandoned the Cube and had little faith in the new system. By the time they caught on, it was too late to capitalize before the holiday season. Supposedly most developers have moved more resources to Wii development, but because of the time involved, we wouldn't see the results for at least a year - which would mean mid-2008 to early 2009.
