Two weeks still isn't quite a "trend" but this is still really interesting and should be slightly concerning for Nintendo. They should think about price cuts and redesigns for the spring. Ideally, I think they should have kept someone working on another Brain Age or Nintendogs type idea to keep expanding the potential audience of the system. Voice Training? Paint DS? Nintendosaurs?

If it is due to market saturation, then there's no issue with the trend spreading to America and Europe, where the DS is nowhere close to a historical saturation point. When they approach those points in two years or so, anything could have happened to PSP in the meantime.

In any case, PSP is going to have spectacular total hardware sales for a "losing" console!

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
