avatars are supposed to be safe for work on this site... at least that is what the forum rules say.  Thats why they have a NSFW section, so people that want to post that crap can go there.

I haven't seen any NSFW avatars on this site, by deffinition.  There may be avatatrs that embarase by association, but that's your problem & you can't ask the greater community to bend simply to save you having to explain yourself to your girlfriend.

If everyone had hello kitty avatars I'd be embarassed to let anyone see what I'm looking at, but it's on me that I'm looking at it, no one's forcing my hand.

I agree none of the avatars are NSFW exactly, I was just correcting basil.  

Look, the only thing I'm suggesting is that people have avatars that are in good taste.  Avatars that exist purely to get a rise out of people should probably not be allowed. 

If everybody agrees that avatars are fine the way they are, then so be it.  There is an easy solution for me not to have to deal with it, and that is to stop coming to this site.  Which I guess I will do...
