Or it could be a ploy to get people interested in their own game - the ones who are huge fans of the Elder scroll series but never played the Witcher series or heard of them.

Or you know they are making an open world RPG and they are explaining the lessons learned from the market leader in the genre. And explaining the areas that they thought were lacking and they can improve apon.
