They have acknowledged the problem in the last Direct and their message was clear: They sacrifice the rest of this fiscal year to have a better start into the next one. You shouldn't be surprised that there's nothing coming before Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate.

Additionally, it's not like they can release games instantly when there is a drought. What did you expect? Super Mario Galaxy 3 by the end of this month?

They should have seen the drought coming long ago.

"Hey, guys, we've got bugger all Wii U games set up for the first half of 2013!"

"Oh, just leave it to rot and use that spare adrenaline shot on our portable that's already thriving!"

"Shouldn't we at least show some trailers of some of the Wii U games we have in production so Wii U owners have something to look forward to?"

"Nah, let's pander entirely to the 3DS fanbase, that portable is clearly struggling and needs help!"
