...alright, cool. How about trying it on Normal maybe? If it's your first FE game then there's no shame in it. However, I'd reccomend pairing up. It's a good tactic for this title it seems.

It's not. It's my first time playing on hard after FE 8, 9, 10, and 11, but the shit they're doing here is just mean.

Oh, hurr durr, we're gonna put these squishy mages out where no-one can reach them. Derpederpdee!

Seriously. Burn in hell.

I can see why it's frustrating, but all FE titles have done this, no? It's not a new thing to the series by any stretch, though it does seem to be amplified in this installment. But then again, there's no Laura or Meg characters in the game, so it balances out. I can only imagine that you aren't picking up on the whole Pair Up mechanic because I haven't heard of these problems from anyone else...

How is Pair Up supposed to help them when they're both low-def mages?

I dunno, I don't have the game and won't for another 2-3 months >.<

Only trying to throw suggestions out there so we can help you power through this hurdle. Though it does sound like maybe you've been unlucky here...
