Was a smart move for Nintendo to finance these games. This is really the only way third parties can be trusted on a Nintendo platform in terms of exclusivity, as further proven by Ubisoft yesterday. Nintendo must always assume now that any third party that releases a game exclusively on Wii U will eventually come running to Sony and MS's consoles, because "Nintendo users don't buy their Gamez! Whaaa!"
Nintendo really needs to keep up this practice of personally financing and publishing third party games on Wii U, or even better, buying out smaller companies outright. Let's face it, in this day and age it is very tough to get and keep exclusives, even for Sony and MS. So this is the only way I see around this. It might cost more, but in the end it is worth it because it gives consumers more reason to buy your console, as Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 already have. Though most Bayonetta fans probably won't buy a Wii U anyway because they are stubborn. They would rather just hate on Nintendo and miss out on one of their favorite franchises.
