When Nintendo goes software only in the future I hope they go on over to mobile only- That will show developers and the HD twins!

If Sony was willing to share licensing royalties and give Nintendo input on hardware (specifically controller design), along with complete autonomy on their own software development, I think this would be an ideal fit. Co-branding as well (meaning the Nintendo logo has to be on the box of any hardware that has Nintendo games on it, of course the Sony logo can be there also).
