Sad truth is: What he did is probably exactly what his bosses want to see: He produced a ton of clicks with his clever little plot. In the long term it's going to hurt them, cause Nintendo fans like me will stop visiting them. But it looks like IGN's Nintendo department is all but vanished already anyway.

A few years ago, the entire IGN Nintendo staff left. It wouldn't surprise me if everyone on that team are hardcore Nintendo haters by now.
