Well it is something that I was looking for from it... So I am not sure I would call it silly

As for the Vaio Tap 20, now that is something I would call silly! But kind of awesome at the same time, I think the main problem with it is that it's battery isn't actually very good at all

Not silly for you to address (since you need that ability), but silly for reviewers (who should know it's not designed to be used in a lap in the first place) to make a big deal out of.

The Tap 20 is silly, but in an epic, awesome way. Battery life is 4 hours of actual use, which is pretty damn good for something that big.

I suppose you could just use it on tablet mode on your lap, but that is what always confuses me about the attraction of adding keyboards to tablets, what do you do with the keyboard then? But it is a market that seems quite popular, so clearly others don't have these issues like I do

4 hours, wow! I thought it was more like 2, the problem is that there is no hugely practical use for it beyond an all in 1, which I think are fairly pointless, but I do really like the idea of a giant tablet

I want to save up for one to pair with an Xbox 720, then use the 'smart glass' app to make it a giant tabletop remote for my media center/home theater. Epic. Of course, I'll probably just have to stick with my surface tablet for that, but I can dream, can't I?

I have kind of fiddled with smart glass, but ultimately I find the controller just as convenient

Also, at the moment my Xbox goes through one of my pc monitors, so I haven't taken much interest in its media functions. I can see things like the ability to continue what you were watching earlier on your tv and the play on Xbox feature for videos stored on your pc might be useful, but I basically live on my desk chair, so I don't use/need them too much at the moment

In my case, I have a decent sized home theater room with a 60" TV and no PC in the room, so it would be pretty cool for that.

Well when I go back home I will have a 100" projector screen! But probably my laptop on my lap.... That is when using a tablet as a controller might be useful, but I certainly don't buy into this second screen stuff for other things, I should be looking at my screen not my lap!

But I imagine the Surface Pro is (given the name) meant to be more for professionals than people looking to use it as a media device, might as well us the RT for that
