NOA management should change, starting with their marketing firm and Reggie - he is no longer relevant.

Iwata however, is the best thing that ever happened for Nintendo - Japanese support has never been this high.

Blaming Reggie is the easy out, it doesn't change anything.

Nintendo needs to accept that while Iwata is good at certain things, he has not been good in other areas (like understanding the Western market).

Yamauchi gave Minoru Arakawa and Howard Lincoln freedom to pursue software alliances and studios like Rareware and Silicon Knights and the Star Wars/LucasArts deal and the founding of Retro Studios.

Iwata gives NOA none of that authority. His power should be reduced, he's done nothing but apologize for screw ups for the last two years and led Nintendo's stock price into the gutter.

- And with reason. NOA's division marketed the Wii U - the result: a poorly constructed commercial and marketing campaign.

Reggie never was relevant. I've never gotten the impression that he had any say in anything, he's just a PR face Nintendo uses.

All the power and decisions reside in Japan.

And Nintendo was not always like this ... Hiroshi Yamauchi was smart enough to delegate a lot of decisions to NOA. That's how things like Killer Instinct, GoldenEye, DKC, Eternal Darkness, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, NST, Rareware, Retro Studios, etc. came to be ... NOA made the calls on those.

Since Iwata has come to power he's basically neutered all of that and kept Retro on a tight leash ... only now like 12+ years after their formation are they apparently allowed to work on more than one game at a time, lol. Over management galore.
