But I think it is designed to do that, I feel it is meant to bridge the gap between a tablet and a laptop, it is meant to mean that you don't need a tablet and an iPad, but maybe it is just me that feels that way? It is certainly what I would be looking for in a device if I was going to spend well over £500

If you look at the ads & kickstand design, it's clearly designed to be used with on a hard surface when using the kickstand/keyboard cover. Also, it's marketed as a tablet, it's never been expected that any other tablet could be used in a lap, so it's a silly complaint for a tablet. I almost never use a laptop in my lap anyway, so it's no big deal to me. There are plenty of actual convertibles/hybrids that would suit that need.

But it has full Windows 8 in, I expect to be able to use it properly....

Technically, using a tablet in your lap is not using it 'properly', so you would probably just get a convertible or laptop instead. It's still a silly complaint for the reviewers to have.

Well it is something that I was looking for from it... So I am not sure I would call it silly

As for the Vaio Tap 20, now that is something I would call silly! But kind of awesome at the same time, I think the main problem with it is that it's battery isn't actually very good at all
