Sure, Sony holds some kind of patent related to this but that doesn't mean they'll use it. Microsoft is VERY anti-consumer while Sony is consumer friendly.
Microsoft requries you to pay for Xbox Live to play games online, Sony doesn't.
Playsation Plus offers FREE games, Xbox Live Gold doesn't.
Apps such as Netflix and Hulu require an Xbox Live subscription, on PS3 they don't require PS Plus.

I'm pretty sure Sony has online passes for all their first party titles, yeah that's real consumer friendly lol nickle and dimeing a customer and yet Microsoft and Nintendo don't resort to such tactics. Maybe you should think before shitting on other companies while trying to make the other look like baby Jesus because in reality they all want money, in Sony case they want to at least make 1 cent of profit off the PS3 from the billions it loss that crippled the company
