too little too late.

Also, gamestop doesn't have that big of a profit margin, so if they dipped into their profit margins to play developers, they would just end up going belly up anyway.

I find that impossible to believe. They are in essense Buying a bulk of games from Devs, selling them full price, buying they back(very small expense), then reselling for $5 less than brand new(and all profit going straight to them).

They can handle giving a smaller portion of those sales back to the devs if it means they can continue reaping majority of the sales. I mean that is better than them having to remove it entirely right?

I also was thinking about a reasonable way of going about DRM on games. I think...

-Games dont need internet to verify, the way Sony's patent works is good.

-Instead of hindering play entirely, allow only 1-2 accounts to play the game after first, just like current PS DD games do.

-A timer/clock waits a year before removing these restrictions from the game entirely.

-This ensures there are virtually no USED games in the begining. For that time, many will buy it brand new. After the year, when the game is scarce to find as new, it will then be possible to get as used. This also means those who own the game and just want to let a friend borrow it still can with their game being allowed to register with 1 or 2 friends at a time.

PS: Also games should go back down to US$50 for brand new if DRM is to be used, and pricing would also need to be far more aggressive.
