My favorite year for movies was 2002. City of God, The Pianist, Infernal Affairs, Panic Room, Minority Report, Catch Me If You Can, The Two Towers, Hero, The Bourne Identity and many more.

That's a good choice :)

Have you seen Adaptation or Talk to Her? Two other great movies from 2002.

Adaptation is probably my favourite movie of all time.  Scratch that, it IS my favourite movie of all time.  I love how Kaufman plays with reality & splits himself in to two people, brilliant!

Not an Almodovar fan so no, but Adaptation was kooky though not nearly as good as Being John Malkovich."

Ahhhh! Aghhhhh! AGHGHGHGH!!!!! ;)

Adaptation is great. One of the more creative, cerebral, and difficult movies I've seen.

I remember I went to see the movie with my now ex-girlfriend and her parents at a theater near my hometown. And the theater staff had set up a display with a magnified newspaper article explaining the premise of the movie so that potential moviegoers wouldn't become confused and disoriented.

I had never seen anything like that before.

The first time I watched It I didn't get how deep it was, I thought the movie was actually writen by brothers.  When I realized he was actually creating the reality around him as he tried to write the screenplay, while fighting the urge to make "Hollywood trash" it went to a whole other level of awesome.  Looking back on it I should have clued in sooner.  I went in cold not knowing anything about it other then that he made Being John Malkovich which is also a favourite of mine.
