The low sales of both consoles lead some people to do the comparison, trying to link the destiny of both consoles when the situation is clearly different:

The Wii U is now selling very well, but is on the same path that most of the other consoles before it. More important, it just released and we know that its AAA games are coming. Nintendo has just used one first shot, and the best has yet to come. And all the sales the Wii U is taking now, it is just bonus as the competition hasn't launched anything yet.  The 360 had a first year advance on the PS3, and capitalized on this 5 millions advance for most of the generation.

The PS Vita on the other hand is already 24 millions console behind its main competitor, that's a crushing gap that has absolutely no chance to be diminished. And worse, there are absolutely no game we can think about that could revitalize the console, seen just as a useless PS3 portable.

The Wii U is in a much much better stop than the PS Vita, it is not even fair to make a comparison.

Have you seen last weeks numbers? Its selling 3x less than PS3, its selling god knows how much less than Wii sold in the same time. The AAA don't hit until Holiday 2013, and with the leaked releaselist the Mario games were listed as TBA so they probably won't even launch this year.
