NO, Pokemon is Nintendo most valuable franchise.

Apart from a couple spikes in 2006 and 2010, the franchise has been in decline since the groundbreaking sales of the first two generations. Also, the highest selling console game, while a huge success, didn't break six million units sold. Compare that to Mario Kart or Super Mario.

Pokemon series have sold over 200 million units

You can add Pokemon cartoon, merchandising and Pokemon Trading Card game that Nintendo is making bank off of.

Pokemon series is a beast, no doubt. I think it's second only to Mario when it comes to video-game franchises (including merchandise and multimedia).

But if we're talking about selling video game platforms, I still say Mario Kart or Mario push the most sales. They sell on portable systems AND home consoles, and they sell more. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl sold about 18 million units. Mario Kart DS cleared 22 million. And the gap in console numbers is even bigger.
