That is laughable. Pachter really has gone down in quality and he really doesnt get it. I used to like him, but his repeated nonsensical doom prediction of Nintendo already became something of a habit. Pachter, call us again in 2 years. We will be here again to show you how wrong you were.
His statement is incredibly ridiculous when he says that if all had equal pricing and power Nintedo would still lose. Nintendo has the most vastly appealing first party portfolio. If 3rd parties would release the same game on all consoles, the Wii U would win the race off their first party strength alone. I am convinced that Mr. Pachter has secondary motivators to make him say these things and it isnt accuracy.

Nintendo consoles being equal (or having more) in power to the others clearly isn't enough to get 3rd party support. See PS3/360 vs. U, and GC vs. PS2/xbox

Its the first party strength that makes it a difficult field for 3rd parties. Still, the good ones make alot of money with it.
The PS2 generation was a different story. The PS2 released sooner and Nintendo was late for everything. Given the PS2 domination there was no reason for 3rd parties to go multi-platform. Nintendo was also not ready for launch, wich brought lukewarm titles and no Mario game. They set themselves up for fail that round. Its not the case here.
