Ocarina of Time is basically the 3D version of A Link to The Past:

3 dungeons first, obtain Master Sword, dark world (future in OoT), some dungeons, final boss. ALTTP has more dungeons.

Pretty much.  So many similarities beyond that too.  Hookshot?  Check.  Mirror shield?  Check. Green Red & Blue tunics?  Check.  Lake Hylia?  Kakariko Village?  Zora's Waterfall / Domain?  Check check check.  Even the Ocarina itself first appeared in LTTP.
