And yes, you have widget to display real-time information in iPhone too... I knew and used Android... and coincidentally I'm a IBM AIX bash/shell developer (it's not Linux but the base is UNIX so the shell is almost the same)... the problem with Linux is not the terminal or the core itself... it's the desktop UI... even the mostly used (KDE and GNOME) are way behind Windows or Mac OS.
