Again it is a prefrence. However if you look at sales you will see what people prefer. I am not going to turn this into a Xbox vs. PS thread, but for the 1,000th time it does not make any sense from a business standpoint to release random first party titles just so you can say we offer more content then the other guy. Sony is putting studios in a position to fail do to demand and lack of marketing. Here is the list for you of Sony's first party studios and the games/projects that mean anything. As of April 2012......
Evolution - MotorStorm
Guerilla Games - KillZone
Media Molecule - LittleBigPlanet
Naughty Dog - Uncharted and The Last of Us
Polyphony Digital - Gran Turismo
SCE Bend Studio - Uncharted Golden Abyss, Resistance: Retribution, and Syphon Filter (Handheld Studio Now)
SCE Cambridge Studio - LittleBigPlanet PSP and KillZone Vita (Handheld Studio)
SCE Japan Studio - The Last Guardian
SCE London Studio - PlayStation Home
SCE San Diego Studio - MLB The Show
SCE Santa Monica Studio - God of War
SCE Studio Liverpool - WipeOut
Sucker Punch Productions - Sly Cooper and Infamous
So there is this myth about Sony having all so many franchises and studios and all these new games all the time. Look at that list and remove the London studio and the two handeld makers. That leaves 10 studios. Here are the games.
MtoroStorm
KillZone
LittleBigPlanet
Uncharted
The Last of Us
Gran Turismo
The Last Gaurdian
MLB The Show
God of War
WipeOut
Sly Cooper
Infamous
That leaves you with 12 games and 3 of those franchises the majority doesn;t gives a rats ass about anymore. So it is the same old franchises coming from Sony with 1 new IP. All of Son'ys "NEW" stuff comes from 3rd party people like Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, and Ni NO Kuni. Other than that Sony is no different than Microsoft and it all comes down to prefrence.
