Looks like they like Animal Crossing more now than Pokemon (or at least Animal Crossing is outpacing it).

No way will animal crossing get even close.

 

Yet you can play it on 3DS so the sales weren't affected that much from releasing it on a dead console.

Animal Crossing: Wild World (5.33m Japan) has outsold every Pokemon game in Japan except Red/Green/Blue, Gold/Silver, Diamond/Pearl, and Black/White.

I believe New Leaf is far outpacing Wild World in Japan.  Black/White sold 5.63m in Japan which barely puts it ahead of Wild World.  I believe New Leaf will sell at least 6-7m units in Japan.

That doesn't mean anything, black and white is outpacing diamond and pearl, yet it won't reach its sales

 

Plus considering the last 2 pokemon games outsold wild world, why would the trend just stop?
