I don't think they'll make 2D to 3D remakes (3D's been around since forever and it never happened), but I do expect them to remaster a lot of their 3D games (Super Mario 64 and others).
They did it from the NES to the SNES, and the talent, tech and graphical jump is there now for them to do it with almost all their major franchises in 3D.
