Notice how as the years go up, the sales go down... Of course, this is probably largely a marketing problem. NoA seems to be pushing Fire Emblem pretty hard, with 4 full-page ads in the latest Game Informer and a huge poster above the 3DS demo station in most GameStops I've been to, right alongside Luigi's Mansion. They certainly seem to want Awakening to sell well, and they probably shipped optimistically, but they may not have anticipated as much demand as they're seeing. I guess they figure if people REALLY want the game day 1, they can download it. |
Hmm..makes sense, I wonder why they chose this particular title. They may be trying to appeal to the audience that played Brawl. Like how the 1st main FE game released after melee was the best selling one, they may be trying to repeat that success, maybe draw some more fans into the series.
In that regard they're doing a pretty good job.
