I don't think two game pads really fits with what Nintendo wants anyway.
Two gamepads taking up all that space in the living room is probably a no-no for Nintendo.
One of the big things with the Wii was getting it wireless to reduce "complaints from mom" about controller wires mucking up the living room.
With all these Wiimotes, multiple Wii U tablets, Classic Controllers, etc. that's just getting out of hand now lol.
I don't think Nintendo will push multi-controller play as a major feature.
