I don't expect much third party support to be honest, especially with these awful sales numbers rolling in, no doubt third parties are seeing them too.

Sales figures are the deciding factor are they? Lets ignore nintendo are publishing games. Lets ignore they pay higher royalties. Lets ignore they approve patches for free when the others charge. Lets ignore the collaborations they are doing.

Sales figures are naturally low because they are late ports and wii u is getting off the ground. Nintendo is making a lot more friends with people this time and that helps them. One company they are getting on with is tecmo. Microsoft however have had several fallings out this gen including with their own first party studios.

It isn't about sales figures that pop up. Its about whats going on behind the scenes.

It's a business, not a charity dealing with lollipops and candy. Black Ops 2 and Assassin's Creed 3 are not really late ports like Batman and they've both tanked on the Wii U.

Nintendo may like Tecmo just swell, but Ninja Gaiden 3 is selling worse than expired milk at the supermarket.

That's not totally true; if the costs for ports are correct, then sales of about 50k would make a profit of 1.5 million dollars.  And considering that Black Ops II, Assassin's Creed III, and even Batman Arkham City all crossed the 100k mark, I'm sure all three have made their money back.  So that's hardly tanking.  Plus they are showing legs.

Now Ninja Gaiden III I can see it having problems, but that game was already badly received to begin with, and it would take time for a franchise like NG to be repaired.

The garbage Call of Duty on the Vita is outselling the Wii U Black Ops 2.

Nintendo has no foothold with this audience any more at all, they've completely burned all bridges and basically handed all that audience away to Sony and Microsoft.

That's really what's happened.
