It certainly didn't fail me.

After the disappointment of the Gamecube, the Wii was an awesome return to form for Nintendo.

It gave us masterpieces like Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Metroid Prime 3, Skyward Sword & Twilight Princess, Xenoblade Chronicles, and the definitive version of the best game I've ever played, Resident Evil 4.

It resurrected the all but dead 2D platforming genre with a vengeance, a genre the N64 and Gamecube sorely lacked in.

With the introduction of motion controls it not only revolutionized the way games are played, providing the most refreshingly new and exciting innovation in gameplay since 3D, but it expanded the gaming population into areas that traditionally shunned games and viewed them with scorn.

Thanks to the Wii, gaming is a much more diverse medium than it was 7 years ago, and on a personal level, I enjoyed it more than any other console I've ever owned except for the SNES.
