I picked up a tablet controller for the first time the other day, and I thought is was very comfortable and something I could work with quite easily.

Nintendo believes it must innovate with controller hardware in order to stay/get ahead of the pack. And they've done great things for gaming as a result. We'll see if the timing was right for a tablet controller. You'd think it was good timing with tablets being the hot item now, and maybe after the slow start it will catch on, with great games.

But it's no Wiimote because it doesn't have the appeal of uniqueness about it and true innovation, because of the hotness of tablets.

So the hotness of tablets is both potentially good and potentially bad for Wii U prospects.
