Actually, the GameCube was a collosal failure that didn't make any money. It was the heavy selling GBA that made Nintendo all of its money.
As for GameCube fans dissing soccer moms, that's kind of ironic considering the purchasers of the GameCube were pretty much 100% Soccer moms buying the system for their children. The console was a giant failure and an embarrassment to the point where many long-time Nintendo fans felt both betrayed by Nintendo and ashamed of being a Nintendo fan. The main reason you GameCube fans don't seem to accurately remember how terrible the situation with the GameCube actually was during the PS2 era is because, well, you were all kids at the time.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
