I'd honestly Nintendo revisit the idea of creating an animation studio that they were thinking about prior to the Wii launching.
Maybe an animation studio could create a new character property which Nintendo could then use in games and benefit from if they need another revenue source.
Let the casuals have their 99 cent garbage (mostly) on iOS/Android.
