So, maybe DS can top PS2 now and become the best selling video game system ever. It's only 2.45 million units behind and it sold 3.53 million units this year. If it does okay, it should top PS2 within 2 years .

It doesn't matter because the DS is a HANDHELD. Two different markets, two differen't sales figures. The top two home consoles are PS2 and PS1. The top handheld is the DS. They can't be compared, and no one with common sense will ever attempt to.

Wii might beat the PS1.

Also it does matter, DS will be the best selling video game system. Both handhelds and consoles. This mattered when GB/GBC was the best selling system and PS2 overtook that, and it matters now if DS reclaims Nintendo's dominance.
