In addition, the only reason why I think the Vita's price is what it is right now is because of the A9 core CPU, and its 5 inch OLED Multi touch screen. It wont be long before those tech become cheaper to manufacture.

I want to seperate the discussions so we can get a bit back on topic.

That is a big part of it. According to the parts breakdown the (2) screens alone contribute to ~$50 in parts, not including labor or anything else. This is why I thought ditching the back touch would have made a significant difference. I know they can't do that now, but looking back I can't see any real reason to have it. I haven't enjoyed it's uses at all yet and I may be proven wrong when Tear Away comes, but that is so far away.

They will drop price this year, but I fear it won't dip below the $200 barrier. Now if they never had the rear touch it most likely would have dipped below it and seeing a $179.99 price rather than a $199.99 on a handheld would make a big time difference to your average walk in customer.

Christmas time deals should be real good for 2013, but Sony needs to be sure they really pump out the software this year. They can't have another barren summer again.

They must also make sure that along with a Vita price cut there needs to be a ~50% reduction on memory card costs. a 16GB card can't be $60 and a 32GB can't be $100. Not with a Vita game download being 2-3GB a piece. A 8GB card barely holds anything. I hate that I have to delete games in order to download games. At least give 16GB for $25. That's still a ~35-40% markup from the cost of a standard 16GB Micro SD.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
