I'm thinking it's called X and Y because the main characters will be male and female. Maybe gender will even play a role in the Pokemon. If there is a Z it will be a 3DS game. Pokemon has always been a portable series and I don't think that will change. They will probably do a Wii U Pokemon Stadium kind of game that links with your 3DS account info or wirelessly connects with your 3DS in some way.
