Game of the Year: Mass Effect 3. The story (not including the ending) was great with some fantastic moments. The characters were as strong as ever. The gameplay was the best in the series, taking the best parts of ME2 (the cover system, shooting, and biotics) and improving them further (the new weighted weapon system, mods and so on). On top of that, the game included a surprisingly addictive and enjoyable multiplayer segment. Also my all-time #16.
Runner-Up: Dishonored. Enormously enjoyable and extremely satisfying. Some of the best atmospheric design I've ever seen in a game. With a better-written story that had a proper conclusion, and some more character development, and perhaps a longer campaign, this would easily be GoTY and probably in my all time top 20 (it finally came in at 47th).
Honourable mentions: Far Cry 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Crusader Kings 2.
XCOM takes "most surprisingly good title", Crusader Kings 2 is "most time spent playing".
Far Cry 3 should get a badge saying "This is the game AC3 was trying to be", right down to the hunting mechanics.
