Personally, TheSource, I see games selling now, based not on their own merits, like they were forced too on the PS2 last gen, but on the lack of AAA titles surrounding them.

For instance, there is no way DMC 4 would have launched to such great numbers in Japan, if it had launched on the PS2, in the PS2's prime years, from a userbase ratio standpoint.

It's a common misconception that DMC's sales were as high as they were due to a hardcore DMC fanbase already in place, however, I feel this is incorrect.

I feel DMC 4 brought a lot of new gamers into the series who didn't have anything to play on their PS3's besides, well, DMC 4, at the time of its release. Particularly, no games that appeal to a Japanese audience.

This also accounts to the huge sales of Melee and Kart on the Gamecube, which had lackluster 3rd party support and wildly spaced out 1st party releases.

I feel it will also translate into great legs on Brawl sales throughout 2008 in Japan, and holiday 08 sales of the game, though, as always, Mario Kart can steal any games thunder, but I feel a lot of the same gamers who bought Brawl will also buy Kart, while that isn't necessarily true with Galaxy for some reason, as we've seen.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
