This still isn't patched? I know a lot of people were having this problem at launch, including a writer at one of the review sites. It's an oversight by Nintendo that needs to be corrected, and I agree, it should have been corrected before Christmas.
Some television models simply don't have the necessary options to make the Wii U compatible. And no, it's not reasonable to suggest that people throw out working TVs so they can use your product. This likely caused a lot of headaches on Christmas morning with people trying to figure out the problem.
