I'm sorry, but you don't know what your talking about. RARE was falling apart before MS bought them. Most of the talent was walking out the door before Nintendo considered selling their shares. MS picket up what Nintendo didn't want and RARE was already a shell of it's former self. But they still made Kameo which is very good, The Conker remake which is better than the first, Perfect Dark Zero which is decent and the new IP Viva Pineta which is very solid and well loved in it's genre. The problem is that RARE's style had fallen out of fashion and the games didn't sell. MS did the best with what it had and at least the studio is producing quality products even if they aren't blockbuster AAA games. Don't count them out, rumor is that they are working on a next gen title. It could be Killer Instinct, something new, or a Kinect 2 game. We don't know, but word it that it's coming.

As for the Japanese. They should learn to love Halo. It transcends shooters like COD. It's more than just a kill fest. But that's not all they ignored on the Xbox 360. For the entire year that the PS3 left the Xbox 360 alone the Japanese skipped all the great RPG that MS worked so hard to bring them. Even after the PS3 came out MS made sure plenty of Japanese games were available on Xbox. The best RPGs were often exclusive on the Xbox 360 or timed exclusive. But instead of enjoying all the great stuff that they claim to love, they ignored the Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 is far more than a shooter box. Yes it has the best shooters, but it also has killer games in every genre. Some of the very best JRPGs are still only available on the Xbox 360. To ignore it is to deny oneself enjoyment.

Well, i have read articles of RARE employees leaving because of the Avatar thing. You might be right, but i never read into that so i cant say you're right or wrong.

As for the japanese, different cultures are very different. I dont know if you ever travelled abroad or lived in other countries, but every country is very different and different things have different levels of importance. While it sounds dumb to you, and to me even though i understand, there are cultural reasons for the japanese to act that way as its most beneficial to their economy and might have foundation on past grudges aswell (WW2, the US did drop nukes on them). Its perfectly natural that they developed a more protectionist culture to protect their identity.

Things never are as simple as they seem. If you were born a Japanese you would probably reject the 360 aswell. Its not something that can be changed from night to day, it takes decades, maybe centuries to change a cultural mindset. There are some crazy exceptions sometimes like apple though. Thats when the marketing manages to hit a critical nerve (portable gadgets are a japanese thing).
