Well the article isn't a big deal really is it.  Its simply a writer not realising that the site stopped tracking the PS2 numbers and therefore comparing apples and oranges?  Easily fixed.

The Vita one is far more of a credibility problem, as its a live issue for far more people (I doubt 99% of people give a damn who is winning between PS2 and DS outside of this site).  On the Vita, I have a feeling they are hoping it rights itself over time and Sony not releasing numbers helps them with that.

Youd be surprised. The numbers/article have been posted on a lot of sites and forums.

I might make another thread on the Vita/PS3 issues tonight if I have the time. Shouldnt take too long.

If anythign I think this is a good example of the site "fixing" numebers over time.  Clearly wrong on that date and then slowly corrected.  But it just looks bad that the site still shows that zero supply I guess.

I think that looks worse, than just saying. "We're wrong." They've said that they extrapolate the numbers as a whole from a small samples size. Inherently their data is going to be wrong from time to time. And from time to time, appear that there are more units sold then shipped, and other weird impossible things.

But, to not admit mistakes when concrete data (like the vita when known, or in this case ps2), and instead try to cover it up. Imo brings the opinion that VGchartz is just pulling all their data out of the butt.

I don't think that is the case. I think they're extrapolating the data, and it's wrong from time to time. But "fix" numbers as you said, instead of just correcting numbers when more concrete is obtained from other sources.
