I haven't encountered any real bad trolls or any trolls for that matter.

People you think are trolls probably just are fans of something and don't like what you like.

If someone thinks the Wii U is underpowered and says it's not much better than the PS30, they aren't trolling. They are giving their opinion. And the thing about opinions is you have to tolerate other people's right to them.

I'm a long time gamer so my history goes back beyond Sega and into the old Atari era. I still have very fond memories of Sega games leading up into the Saturn and beyond into the Dreamcast. Some people will say nasty things about the Sega Saturn. I usually set the record straight and if they still won't give respect where respect is due I leave the conversation. There's no sense arguing opinion forever since everyone is entitled to their own.

But I'm talking about people who use little to no facts to push an idea they themselves aren't necessarily convinced of, but will push it just because it suits their preferences.

Also, maybe some of us are judging the other as trolling, jumping the gun perhaps (in line with what you're saying).

Like, for me, it's not the WiiU trolling per se that's bothering me, though I see that as a possible lure for trollism, in that it can then contaminate other areas. But more people who can't accept talking factually about a console because for example it puts it in a bad light. I mean if you're talking facts and not injecting hyperboles, why choke discussion? That's my beef, where people choke the discussion because it doesn't suit them, and it fucks up the forum because we're actually here to talk and share ideas. But instead we end up with half-baked threads where little thought comes out of them but quick, jump-the-gun kind of assumptions that just lead to little insight and ultimately frustration.
