Sadly, 3rd parties made it that way, and Nintendo helped in that alot, as well as retarded fanboys (nobody in this thread, just in the industry in general). Constant bashing of a console spreads with word to mouth and we get retardation like what was said for Metro on the U.
So yeah, it's our fate hopefully for not too long.
