Well, Sony isn't forcing more units than the distribution centers want/need, but I believe that they were well stocked back in November when Sony announced their 70m shipped. Basically, what I was saying is that it makes sense that this last week marked the official "70m+ actually sold to consumers".

Your telling me that retailers have thousands of Ps3's stockpiled in their warehouse for over a month? Doubtful. More likely than not Sony increases shipments closer to Christmas. No reason to ship 2 million units in Oct when you wont sell that many till December
|
Who the hell said anything about stockpile since October? Sony made their 70m shipped announcement on Nov 16. The week ending Nov 17, Vgchartz had the PS3 at 68,471,963. This last week ending Dec 8, they're now at 70m+. Ergo, they were well stocked for Black Friday and the following weeks. What point are you even trying to make?

Before you take that condescending tone maybe you should know what you are talking about.

This morning Sony announced that cumulative sales of the PS3 reached 70 million worldwide as of 4th November 2012

Ok, I'll give you the date being Nov 4th as opposed to the 16th; I'll concede to that. However, what does that change as far as my point? They shipped 70m (sold to shops) on Nov 4th, they've now sold (to consumers) 70m+ as of December 8th...
