Look all the Sony fanboys on here can try claim that PS2 has sold 156m or 160m, but why would vga stop tracking it if it was selling still in the numbers you all are claiming? And don't say because Sony said so because that's not valid argument as they like to play games with sale numbers.

PS2 has always been so hard to track in VG Chartz because it's in so many places, that's why they stopped because the sales were always way off. From the last shipped numbers of the PS2 which is November of 2011 (a whole year of not tracking) it shipped 153.6 million, we got some quarterly numbers after that where the PS2 was shipping over a million a quarter for some time (not to mention 2011 christmas sales) so obviously the PS2 is still being shipped we all know that and it should be around 160 million now, easily. The PS2 was shipping on par with the PS3/X360 and Wii last year.

We have up to date shipping numbers for the DS which is 152.5 million as of September 30 2012. for these older consoles shipped numbers is all you can go by because really that's all that's going to matter in 10 years time since stock will be all bought up. So clearly the DS is far from outselling the PS2, and since the PS2 is still selling there's a good chance the DS will never outsell it.
