The PS3 was 600 freaking dollars and the 360 was supply constrained to hell (probably in part because MS effectively launched a 2006 piece of tech in 2005, so the manufacturing yields must've been awful).

So better than those two isn't really a big deal. The impressive thing about the PS3/360 is how long of a tail they've had as platforms with 6-7+ year life cycles and continuing to put up solid numbers well past year 5.

I'm kinda indifferent to Wii U sales right now. They're not terrible, but they're not spectacular either. They're passable. I worry about the system next year though, especially in the Jan-June months.
