JRPGs have largely migrated to the handhelds. I think the turning point was when Dragon Quest 9 was announced for the DS back in 2006.

The good news is, JRPGs for the consoles still exist. Just a little while back, Xenoblade was released for the Wii, and got some of the best reviews in the history of the genre! And in 2013, we're getting Ni No Kuni, Monster Hunter 3U, Lightning Returns, and Tales of Xillia.

Love and tolerate.
